Flight enables existence in two elements, on Earth and in the air. Travel between land and sky implies the possibility of exchanges from one element to the other, the transfer of knowledge or the bringing of messages between the dwellers in the sky, the gods and mortals upon the Earth.
to the ancients the appearance of a rainbow after a storm signified the presence of a benign city. In different civilisations it was a bridge spanning the divide between the heavens and earth. By the use of a prism it can be shown that the colours of the rainbow are the constituents of pur White light.
